BETWEEN THE LINES 3rd Staged Reading (Free!)

Love. Nightlife. Sex. Drugs. Heartbreak. The Minefield Theatre Group presents the THIRD (and possibly last) Staged Reading of playwright-in-residence Chris Patterson’s new dark comedy, “Between the Lines.”

Kylie, along with her roomates, Chris and Alex, are frequent party and club-goers. When Kylie and Paul, a bartender, enter romance, it’s only a matter of time before lines are drawn...or, er…snorted. Featuring the music of Years & Years, Tove Lo, and Disclosure among others, this dance play examines and exhibits drug use and abuse in relationships, and takes a look into the nightclub and rave culture.

We invite you to ‘take a hit’ of this new work before production begins in August!

This reading's cast: to be determined

Doors open at 4:15pm. Free admission. $5 suggested donation. Seating is limited, first come, first served. Refreshments will be available.

#bitchdrinks

The Minefield Theatre Group makes its Brooklyn debut with this social commentary on the misconceptions of women in today's society, using poetry and spoken word to dissect, and debunk some of their myths and myriads, as well as address obstacles they inexplicably face. “#bitchdrinks” derives from two notions: that women can't hold their liquor as well as men, therefore being subject to watered-down drinks at bars, and an indication of the social media culture we currently inhabit with the unbridled power of a hashtag. Join us as we continue to challenge the current state of society and its various constructs.

Featuring: Sabrina Cates, Elizabeth Claflin, Mone't Rosa Fuentes, Marie Diamond Iachetta, and Jessica Danielle Powell. Directed by Phil Williams and Ian Tyrone Stephens.

May 5 @ 8pm, May 6 @ 8pm, May 7 @ 5pm, May 12 @ 8pm, May 13 @ 8pm, and May 14 (Mother's Day) @ 5pm. Doors open one hour prior to each show.

$10 General Admission. Drink specials available: bitchdrinks.brownpapertickets.com
